Mission Statement
RogueCon is a not-for-profit community organization to support Speculative Fiction, Game and other "Pop Entertainment" activities. The goal of RogueCon is to provide a forum for its community to communicate and socialize about their favorite activities.
RogueCon is created by the community, run by the community to support the community.
RogueCon uses technology to assist in easing Volunteer efforts, by automating processes and communication.
RogueCon uses a sponsorship model to represent how other organizations (retailers, manufacturers, publishers, other events, etc) within the community can work together with RogueCon in promoting each other.
Yearly Event Network
Part of a community thriving is keeping its interest level high. To this end, RogueCon has three tiers of events stacked to help provide synergy and interest in the next level of activity. The Wasatch front is divided into three areas: South (Provo/Orem), Central (SLC and Tooele valleys) and North (Davis/Weber counties). A further 'hyperborean' region may be added if interested contributors can be found for Cache Valley.
Monthly RogueCon Gameday
Retailer Gameday: Each month RogueCon sponsored Gamedays are run by Retailers with "Brick and Mortar" locations. At the GameDay the Retailer promotes RogueCon by announcing RogueCon to the attendees, and displaying the provided promotional material. In exchange RogueCon sends notices to its membership about the event at the Retailer, directing them to the Retailer. The Retailer gains Sponsorship status based on the number of Gamedays run through the year (each gameday has a minimum of 10 attendees to count):
One Gameday in a year: Retailer gains Silver level Sponsorship at the Region's next Conclave.
Three Gamedays in a year: Retailer gains Gold level Sponsorship at the Region's next Conclave.
Five Gamedays in a year: Retailer gains Gold level Sponsorship at the Region's next Conclave plus Silver level Sponsorship at the yearly Convention.
11 Gamedays in a year: Retailer gains Gold level Sponsorship at the Region's next Conclave plus Gold level Sponsorship at the yearly Convention.
Supporter Gameday: Same features as a Retailer Gameday run by non-retail support organizations. The only difference in features and benefits is a Supporter Gameday may not be run in the same region against a Retailer Gameday.
Quarterly RogueCon Conclave: one quarter a year per Region (rotating Regions throughout the year), RogueCon runs a single day 3-round event at a local Regional facility (such as a banquet facility or rec center).
Yearly RogueCon Convention: once per year a 3-day Convention is run.
